Girl in the Woods is a semi-autobiographical body of artwork, featuring a central character named Timberella. While her inspiring story follows the mythic structure of the hero’s journey, there is no mistaking Timberella for an outdated fairytale: these parables include no frog prince, fairy godmother, or glass slipper. Timberella is made contemporary as the fallen hero rises of her own volition.
